BriefJob Summary
Works under the supervision of the Children’s Librarian, and plays an integral role in the library’s youth services team, to successfully implement public services, policies, procedures and programs in accordance with the library’s mission.
ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and presenting lesson plans to meet specific literacy needs of children such as story times, library education and summer reading programs.
Monitoring the condition of the children's department.
Providing reference and reader’s advisory services to all library users, with a focus on services to children, teens, parents and teachers.
EmphasisStrong focus on children’s programming and literature, customer service, technology experience and teamwork.
QualificationsApplication of elementary principles of library and information sciences.
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
