The Founding Principal serves as the instructional leader responsible for establishing and leading Somerset Academy's first school in Arkansas. The Principal will build a culture of excellence focused on student achievement, high-quality instruction, strong relationships, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include overseeing school operations, implementing curriculum and assessment programs, recruiting and developing staff, monitoring student performance, fostering family and community partnerships, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. The Principal will lead the successful launch and growth of the school while upholding Somerset Academy's mission, values, and commitment to educational excellence.

Job Requirements
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to serve as a Founding Principal, establishing a culture of excellence, building community partnerships, and leading Somerset Academy’s expansion and success in Arkansas
  • Experience in a school leadership role (Principal, Assistant Principal, Lead Teacher, Curriculum Specialist, or similar)
  • Proven record of increasing student achievement and ensuring excellence in education
  • Demonstrated success in parental engagement and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Experience with curriculum development, innovation, and school-wide implementation
  • Strong background in instructional leadership, assessment, and data analysis
  • Ability to conduct formal and informal observations and provide effective coaching and mentoring to teachers
  • Knowledge of federal and state requirements for English Language Learners (ELL) and Students with Disabilities (ESE)
  • Experience in building community partnerships and fostering a positive school culture
  • Ability to manage school operations, including budgeting and resource allocation
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and equitable outcomes for all students
