Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Mechanical Designer I (29877)

This is a great opportunity to learn about design and teamwork within the design side of the building industry. We seek entry‑level or individuals with 1–5 years of experience in HVAC and plumbing design of building systems.

Successful candidates will be involved with construction document creation, technical design, execution of project production schedules, coordination with other professional disciplines (structural engineers, electrical engineers, and architects, to name a few), and will work under a licensed professional engineer in a collaborative team environment.

Job Requirements
  • Assist the Mechanical Engineer and/or Mechanical Design Team to design, implement, and draft construction documents for clients’ building programs, including HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Use education and experience to independently tackle minor challenges as they arise on projects, with support and direction from the Mechanical Engineer or Design Team lead.
  • Apply knowledge of national standards such as IMC, IPC, and ASHRAE to construction documents with oversight from the Mechanical Engineer or Design Team Lead.
Job Duties
  • Develop skills in AutoCAD and/or Revit, relevant national codes, and travel to projects as necessary (as required by client). Become familiar with software that assists the design process, such as Trane Trace.
  • Work in a collaborative environment with architects and other engineers to develop construction documents based on clients’ requirements.
  • Perform quality control of one's own work prior to giving it to the Mechanical Engineer for final review.
  • Maintain direct contact with the client on a regular basis, depending on the needs of the client and team.
