As an entry‑level engineer, the candidate will interact with engineering groups, define and perform tests, and contribute to system integration and validation.

• Conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within the discipline.
• Performs routine assignments using existing procedures.
• Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior roles.
• Entry level progression to a professional career path.
• Consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.

• Interact with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
• Participate in final system integration and validation to identify functional problems.
• Define internal quality control standards and maintain reliability programs.
• Create, document, and analyze complex test cases and provide feedback and recommendations for product or design changes.
• Ensure testing procedures comply with required industry specific standards.
• Identify chronic or systemic problems in testing and develop and implement improvements to the process.
• Coordinate with vendors or suppliers to modify or develop testing for components or other parts.

• Required education and experience: Associate’s Degree and 0-3 years’ experience.
• Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required.
• Technical skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Preferred education and experience: Bachelor’s Degree.
• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Conformance testing, product testing, test engineering, quality standard development, bug/defect identification, industry standards, test documentation, bug tracking software, software testing tools, oral and written communication, critical thinking, analytical thinking.

• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or to operate machinery.
• This position is Safety-Sensitive.
