Mechanical Designer IIJob Requirements
- Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers or Design Leads to communicate with clients, deliver construction documents, and assist in construction administration.
- Develop, implement, and draft construction documents for most projects or major portions independently, solving medium to difficult design challenges.
- Apply national standards to simple projects with minimal oversight.
- Use software such as Trane Trace throughout the design process; possess basic energy‑code knowledge.
- Design and draft domestic water, sewer, and natural gas piping systems, including riser diagrams, for small to medium projects.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit; able to train new employees on standards and drafting techniques, addressing technical questions on HVAC and plumbing. Basic knowledge of national standards (IMC, IPC, ASHRAE) and Trane Trace required.
- Collaborate with Architects and Engineers to develop construction documents based on client requirements, handling some project management functions, quality control, or other duties.
- Provide high‑level quality control on all projects for final review by the Mechanical Engineer or Design Lead.
- Occasionally serve as direct client contact.
- Work within established budgets; may be responsible for the financial success of projects, depending on supervision and client needs.
- Design HVAC systems, equipment, controls, and provide energy calculations with minimal supervision for simple systems.
- Edit specifications for small to medium projects.

Experience:
0–3 staff. - Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Licensure: None required.
