Senior Designer - Bentonville, AR

Description

Halff has a current opening for a Senior Designer in our Bentonville, AR location. This position is responsible in providing support in the advancement of Halff's technical abilities for land development and related discipline planning and design projects. The Senior Designer makes decisions regarding design suitability using knowledge of specified product materials, recognized industry standards, and construction practices. This requires thorough knowledge and accurate use of civil drafting techniques, computer operations, and civil engineering practices.

This position recommends and implements design changes to resolve field problems and may require field verification work.

• Work as part of a design team under the direct supervision of a PE
• Oversight of CAD Operators, Technicians and Interns performing design and production work using CAD standards and procedures to create an effective team
• Create and modify detailed drawings and designs for engineering projects using CAD software
• Review and revise drawings to meet specifications and standards
• Collaborate closely with engineers to understand project requirements and translate them into technical drawings
• Prepare and maintain documentation, including material lists, quantity takeoffs, cut/fill reports, and project records
• Review and implement applicable design and/or industry standards, federal and state requirements, and safety regulations to ensure design compliance
• Train staff in Civil 3D software/Design
• Support multiple projects when needed and help ensure timely completion of assignments
• Actively participate in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve project quality
• Review project design documents prepared by engineering specialists and ensure redlines are incorporated into document drafts

• Drafting Certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field is desired
• Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering, drafting and design, with a focus on municipal infrastructure/Public Works projects
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and Civil3D
• Strong Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and ability to work in a team environment
• Knowledge of Public Infrastructure standards and regulations
• Ability to work independently as a self-motivator and as part of a team
