Position Summary
The Manager, Product Development leads the end-to-end management of product specifications and lifecycle processes to ensure alignment with business objectives and member needs. This role collaborates cross-functionally to drive product initiatives, resolve issues through root cause analysis, and deliver quality products on time. By leveraging market insights and performance data, the manager supports strategic product decisions and continuous improvement. Additionally, this position fosters strong partnerships, oversees sourcing activities, and guides team development while upholding company standards and promoting operational excellence across all product development stages.
This is a hands‑on product development role that requires daily interaction with physical product samples. Responsibilities include receiving and unpacking shipments, organizing and transporting samples, and moving product across campus. The role requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds. This position is based on‑site in Bentonville, Arkansas and must be able to travel 10-15% of the time
- Both domestic and international travel required.
By integrating product innovation, design, and assortment planning, the team manages product development from concept to delivery with a strong focus on quality, performance, and member value. Collaborating across functions, the team applies strategic insight and effective project management to meet member needs and support business goals. Whatyou'll do
- Manage product specifications throughout the entire lifecycle to ensure alignment with quality standards and member needs.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive product development initiatives and resolve issues promptly.
- Conduct industry benchmarking and analyze data to inform product strategies and identify emerging trends.
- Oversee sourcing activities and validate documentation to support business unit objectives and compliance.
- Perform root cause analysis on product variances and recommend solutions to minimize disruptions.
- Communicate progress and updates to cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.
- Lead and develop team members, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience managing product specifications throughout the entire product lifecycle to meet quality and member requirements.
- Strong skills in cross‑functional project management, collaborating effectively with internal and external partners.
- Expertise in product strategy development supported by data analysis and industry benchmarking.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and recommend solutions to resolve product issues promptly.
- Excellent communication skills to provide clear updates and align teams on product initiatives.
- Demonstrated capability to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement in product development.
