Position Summary
The Finance Manager will support key areas across the Sam’s Club Experience organization, including Membership, MAP (Member Access Platform), Marketing, Contact Centers, and Member Insights. This role is a critical thought partner to business leaders, responsible for driving financial planning, forecasting, performance insights, and disciplined execution across a diverse and fast-moving portfolio.
This position is FP&A-focused, with a strong emphasis on data-driven insights, forecasting accuracy, business reviews, and continuous improvement through process simplification and automation. The Finance Manager will help connect strategy to outcomes, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that enable better decisions and scalable growth.

This role helps ensure that investments across Membership, MAP, Marketing, Contact Centers, and Insights are intentional, measurable, and scalable—connecting financial discipline with member impact.
What you’ll do Financial Planning & Forecasting- Support core FP&A activities across Experience functions, including monthly forecasts, annual operating plans, and long-range outlooks.
- Develop and maintain driver-based financial models to support investment decisions, scenario analysis, and resource prioritization.
- Partner with business leaders to understand performance drivers, risks, and opportunities, ensuring forecasts reflect operational reality.
- Deliver recurring business reviews that clearly communicate performance vs. plan, key drivers, and forward-looking risks and opportunities.
- Translate complex financial and operational data into insights that are easily understood by non-finance partners.
- Support strategic initiatives and experiments across Experience with financial analysis, ROI assessment, and measurement frameworks.
- Leverage data and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Big Query, Excel, GenAI) to enhance reporting, dashboards, and self-service insights.
- Identify opportunities to simplify financial processes, reduce manual work, and improve scalability through automation and standardization.
- Continuously improve data quality, definitions, and financial rigor across Experience reporting.
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to leaders across Membership, MAP, Marketing, Contact Centers, and Member Insights.
- Collaborate with Strategy, Operations, Product, and Analytics teams to align financial plans with business priorities.
- Influence decision-making through strong business acumen, fact-based insights, and clear storytelling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related analytical role.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis capabilities.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Working knowledge of SQL and data visualization tools such as Power BI (or similar).
- Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into coherent insights and recommendations.
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with evolving priorities.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a passion for process simplification and automation.
- High attention to detail, balanced with the ability to think strategically.
- Strong ownership mentality and bias toward action.
- Experience supporting marketing, digital, membership, or customer experience organizations.
- Exposure to advertising, marketplace, or data-driven revenue models.
- Experience in retail, eCommerce, or subscription-based businesses.
