Supports tax department training and mentoring initiatives by developing and facilitating team training sessions responding to questions and information requests from team members creating and updating training documents and providing one-on-one training and mentoring to associates Supports the development of tax planning strategies by providing business financial facts researching tax rules related to the area managed performing technical analysis writing supporting memoranda and developing Power Point transaction step plans Manages low to medium complexity federal and state tax returns forms and reporting of operations by gathering financial data from departments and divisions analyzing and incorporating data into returns preparing work papers and supporting schedules obtaining taxability status managing tax notices and recommending resolutions to issues within established timelines to senior management reviewing and responding to information requisitions processing financial and tax data using professional tax software partnering with stakeholders to determine opportunities for and ensuring application of tax credits recovering refunds supporting the execution of tax planning by updating tax analysis and working with tax leadership discussing tax issues with business teams and presenting tax results to senior management Supports the tax returns process by facilitating audit documentation maintenance and procedural developments by sharing audit process information with Compliance communicating audit process irregularities to appropriate management responding to auditor inquiries as needed compiling data and creating reports to support senior management on state audit projects escalating potential exposure items to senior analysts and management ensuring accuracy of tax returns forms and audits by assessing tax work papers for federal state and international operations and advising internal and external customers on company tax compliance practices Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development execution and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs and building commitment for perspectives and rationales Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders identifying business needs determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices monitoring progress and results recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities and adapting to competing demands organizational changes and new responsibilities Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission values and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans using the Open Door Policy and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices Respect the Individual Demonstrates and encourages respect for others drives a positive associate and customer member experience for all embraces differences in people cultures ideas and experiences supports workplaces where associates feel seen and connected through a culture of belonging so all associates thrive and perform contributes to an environment allowing everyone to bring their best selves to work Respect the Individual Demonstrates engagement and commitment to the team developing others through feedback coaching mentoring and developmental opportunities and recognizes others contributions and accomplishments Respect the Individual Builds strong and trusting relationships with team members and business partners works collaboratively to achieve objectives communicates with impact and listens attentively to a range of audiences and demonstrates energy and positivity for own work Act with Integrity Maintains and promotes the highest standards of integrity ethics and compliance models the Walmart values and leads by example to foster our culture supports Walmart's goal of becoming a regenerative company by making a positive impact for associates customers and the world around us eg creating a sense of belonging eliminating…
