The Distribution Center Human Resources Manager serves as the senior HR leader for the Distribution Center, driving strategic people initiatives that enable operational excellence, workforce stability, and organizational growth.
This role partners closely with DC leadership to align human capital strategies with business objectives, ensuring the distribution center is staffed, developed, engaged, and compliant. The DC HR Manager leads all aspects of HR for the facility, including employee relations, talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, engagement, training, compliance, and organizational development.
As a key member of the DC leadership team, this role influences culture, drives accountability, mitigates risk, and ensures HR practices directly support productivity, retention, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Workforce Planning- Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the DC General Manager and leadership team.
- Develop and execute workforce strategies that align staffing levels with volume forecasts and operational demands.
- Lead succession planning and talent development initiatives to build internal bench strength.
- Analyze workforce trends (turnover, absenteeism, productivity, overtime, engagement) and recommend action plans.
- Drive organizational effectiveness and change management initiatives within the distribution center.
- Lead complex employee relations matters including investigations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure consistent and legally sound performance management processes.
- Coach leaders on effective leadership practices, accountability conversations, and engagement strategies.
- Identify trends in employee relations and implement proactive solutions.
- Oversee full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried DC roles.
- Develop proactive sourcing strategies to ensure continuous talent pipelines.
- Partner with operations to anticipate workforce needs and hiring surges.
- Ensure onboarding programs drive retention, safety compliance, and productivity ramp-up.
- Identify skill gaps and partner with leadership to implement targeted training programs.
- Support leadership development initiatives within the DC.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives that foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor engagement data and lead action planning.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Lead audits and assessments to mitigate employment-related risk.
- Oversee leave administration and accommodation processes in partnership with corporate HR.
- Maintain awareness of labor trends and regulatory changes impacting distribution operations.
- Oversee benefits administration and employee inquiries within the facility.
- Ensure accurate and compliant recordkeeping, payroll coordination, and HRIS integrity.
- Prepare and present HR metrics and dashboards to DC and corporate leadership.
- Monitor labor spend and provide insight into payroll efficiency and workforce optimization.
- Champion a positive, high-performance work culture aligned with company values.
- Partner with Safety and Operations leaders to reinforce accountability and compliance standards.
- Serve as a visible and accessible HR leader within the distribution center.
- Drive initiatives that improve retention, morale, and operational continuity.

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required;
Master’s degree preferred. - HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Experience supporting distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or high-volume operations strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, EEO, FLSA, and other employment laws.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk within a warehouse/distribution environment.
