Overview
Position: Principal Data Analyst, Decision Sciences (SQL, Tableau, AI, Business Fluency)
We are seeking a results-driven Principal Data Analyst to solve complex problems and dive deep into data. This role is part of the Decision Sciences, Delivery Data & Analytics team. The BI team supports ecommerce transportation’s daily operations. You will help users navigate billions of data to inform timely decisions, working with operations and finance to provide insights and improve business outcomes.
Responsibilities- Work with large, messy, disparate datasets and conduct ad-hoc analyses to inform critical business decisions.
- Create ETLs or processes that pull data from multiple sources and centralize it in a single table.
- Develop data visualizations to monitor and quantify the impact of changes and address unique business challenges.
- Engage with team members and cross-functional teams on a periodic basis and establish credibility.
- Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with Operations, Finance and Product teams on data accuracy, completeness and latency across multiple systems.
- Leverage scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate reporting activities (screenshots, metrics prioritization and outlier detection).
- Document processes and share knowledge with peers; mentor peers as you become a Subject Matter Expert.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Arts, Finance or related field and 4 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
- Option 2:
Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field. - Option 3: 6 years' experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
- Advanced SQL and Tableau user.
- Experience with ecommerce operations or parcel carrier operations.
- Experience with Python or other scripting language; experience with data manipulation tools such as Python, R, Tableau Prep, etc.
- Data science, data analysis, statistics, or related field;
Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. - Related industry experience (retail, merchandising, healthcare, eCommerce).
- Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, Tableau).
