Position Summary

The Director – Right Location, Technology Operations leads the strategic planning and execution of large‑scale technology programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational efficiency. This role oversees financial management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder collaboration to drive successful program delivery. The director applies advanced program management techniques to optimize resource allocation and performance monitoring while fostering productive relationships across multiple business units.

With a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement, this position supports technology integration and operational excellence to deliver measurable business value and sustainable growth.

About the team

The Delivery Optimization team focuses on creating an intelligent, scalable, and cost‑efficient last‑mile network. By improving sourcing, catchment, address, and trip planning, the team enhances asset utilization, expands customer reach, and reduces overall costs. This group ensures predictable trip preparation flows for stores and timely deliveries for customers. Utilizing advanced product capabilities and emerging technologies, the team drives innovation in last‑mile operations, supporting Walmart’s commitment to operational excellence and superior service delivery through effective program and stakeholder management, financial oversight, and collaborative business operations.

What

you’ll do
  • Lead the development and execution of product capabilities aligned with business objectives.
  • Define and monitor performance metrics, risk assessments, and mitigation plans across multiple projects.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders to influence decision‑making and drive results.
  • Manage resource allocation and operational processes to optimize program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide clear, concise communication and reporting to senior leadership on program status and outcomes.
  • Foster continuous improvement by implementing best practices and innovative technology solutions.
  • Oversee program budgeting, forecasting, and financial management to ensure cost‑effective delivery.
What you’ll bring
  • Proven ability to define and execute large‑scale technology programs aligned with business strategy.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills to build consensus and drive cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Expertise in monitoring program performance, risk assessment, and mitigation planning.
  • Deep understanding of technology landscapes, trends, and their application to business objectives.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop business cases and operational plans supporting organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly and foster productive relationships.
  • Extensive experience in program and financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Option 1:
    Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, or related area and 6 years of experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • Option 2: 8 years of experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, or related area and 5 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
