Power BI Consultant

Confiz is seeking a Power BI Consultant with 4+ years of experience to design, develop, and deliver interactive dashboards and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, SQL, and data visualization, with the ability to manage the complete report development lifecycle while working closely with customers and business stakeholders.

Work Schedule: Eastern Time Zone

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and KPIs to support business and policy decision-making.
• Create and manage Power BI data sources, datasets, data models, and semantic models to enable scalable reporting solutions.
• Transform complex datasets into meaningful, visually compelling insights using Power BI best practices.
• Collaborate with customers, business users, data scientists, analysts, and data engineers to gather reporting requirements and translate them into impactful dashboards.
• Own the complete SDLC for Power BI reporting solutions, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, UAT support, production deployment, and post-production support.
• Present developed reports and dashboards to customers and business stakeholders, incorporating feedback to continuously improve reporting solutions.
• Develop and optimize DAX measures, Power Query (M) transformations, and data models for performance and scalability.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, accuracy, and governance across all reports and dashboards.
• Implement best practices for data visualization, storytelling, user experience, and dashboard performance optimization.
• Maintain and enhance existing Power BI reports based on evolving business requirements.
• Troubleshoot reporting, data, and performance issues to ensure reliable and efficient Power BI solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI report development, dashboard design, and analytics consulting.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Power BI, including Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, dashboards, reports, KPIs, and workspace management.
• Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex queries across relational databases.
• Experience with Snowflake would be preferred.
• Experience creating and managing Power BI data sources, datasets, and semantic models.
• Hands-on experience with report optimization, performance tuning, and handling large, complex datasets.
• Experience managing the complete lifecycle of Power BI reporting solutions from requirements gathering through production support.
• Ability to work directly with customers and confidently present reporting solutions to business stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including business users, data scientists, analysts, and data engineers.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data storytelling skills with an eye for effective visualization design.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
