Aboutthe Team
The team leads sourcing efforts at Sam’s Club across key categories including OTC, Eyecare, Rx, and Hearing Aid Batteries within Consumables and Health and Wellness. Collaborating closely with Merchants and Product Developers, the team focuses on delivering high-quality Members Mark products. They engage with suppliers to identify and develop partnerships that align with Sam’s Club standards. The team emphasizes strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and cost-effective procurement to support business goals and enhance product offerings for members.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to optimize supplier selection and cost efficiency.
- Lead supplier relationship management to ensure performance standards and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to achieve cost reduction and value creation.
- Manage procurement processes including RFQs, supplier evaluations, and direct imports.
- Analyze market trends and commodity pricing to inform category strategy and purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align sourcing initiatives with business objectives and supply chain requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks.
- Extensive experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain management to optimize procurement processes.
- Proven expertise in supplier relationship management and contract negotiation to secure favorable terms.
- Strong skills in cost management and cost reduction initiatives to enhance profitability.
- Proficiency in commodity management, direct imports, and category strategy development.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive market analysis and manage supplier performance effectively.
- Demonstrated capability in leading Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes and procurement activities.
- Excellent negotiation strategies to drive value and maintain competitive advantage.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $, with additional performance bonuses and potential stock awards.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, engineering, or related area and 2 years of experience in merchandising, sourcing, planning, finance, or related area.
- OR 6 years of experience in merchandising, sourcing, planning, finance, or related area.
- Master's degree in Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or related area.
- Procurement experience in a retail environment.
- Expertise in raw material and commodity procurement.
