What you'll do...
Role summary:The Sr. Manager, Technology Operations, Cross-Border Fulfillment & Inventory Strategy will lead the strategy and development of intelligent inventory and fulfillment capabilities that connect seller inventory with customer demand across global markets. This leader will own an end-to-end strategy for determining what inventory should be positioned, where, when, and in what quantity to improve delivery speed, inventory productivity, and network economics.
They will translate Cross-Border growth plans and customer demand into inventory placement, replenishment, fulfillment, and network requirements, to ensure the capabilities and network Marketplace builds today can support the scale of our business growth.
The Cross Border & Seller Delivery Solutions team supports Walmart Marketplace sellers by providing reliable logistics solutions that enhance assortment relevance and delivery experiences. The team focuses on expanding selection, unlocking global demand, and improving delivery speed while upholding Walmart’s Everyday Low Price commitment. This role sits at the intersection of global teams to build cross border capabilities. The leader will partner to develop predictive and optimization solutions that identify demand, prioritize selection, and recommend inventory positioning;
to translate insights into scalable solutions; and with Product to turn inventory intelligence into actionable seller guidance.
Inventory Flow & Fulfillment Strategy
- Own the end-to-end inventory flow strategy and methodology that determines how inventory should be positioned, replenished, and moved across Walmart's fulfillment network to achieve cross-border delivery speed, availability, and economic objectives.
- Define the decision frameworks and business logic that determine what inventory should be positioned, where, when, and in what quantity, incorporating customer demand, selection performance, inventory health, fulfillment capacity, transportation constraints, service-level objectives, and business priorities.
- Develop scalable inventory placement and replenishment strategies that leverage Walmart's broader fulfillment and supply chain network while addressing the unique requirements of cross-border markets.
- Translate Cross-Border growth plans and long-range demand forecasts into inventory, fulfillment, capacity, and network requirements to support AOP, LRP, and future network investment decisions.
- Partner with Data Science and Analytics to develop predictive and optimization capabilities that identify cross-border demand, prioritize eligible selection, recommend inventory positioning, and improve allocation and replenishment decisions.
- Define the business requirements, decision logic, inputs, constraints, and success measures for models that connect customer demand and selection opportunity with inventory and fulfillment decisions.
- Establish a scalable decision framework that incorporates demand signals, inventory productivity, speed opportunity, fulfillment capacity, transportation economics, and other operational constraints to generate actionable inventory recommendations.
- Partner with Supply Chain, Fulfillment Services, Transportation, and international teams to define the long-term cross-border fulfillment strategy, including forward deployment, gateway strategy, inventory positioning, replenishment flows, and future node expansion.
- Translate Cross-Border volume, geographic demand, and service requirements into actionable inputs for network planning and identify where future Cross-Border growth may materially affect node location, capacity, timing, or investment requirements.
- Evaluate how existing and planned enterprise assets can support Cross-Border use cases and identify capability or network gaps that constrain delivery speed, selection availability, or scalable growth.
- Identify and define new Fulfillment Services capabilities required to unlock Cross-Border growth, including inventory placement, replenishment, consolidation, gateway, forwarding, and international fulfillment solutions.
