As the Director, Merchandising – Kids Active for Walmart Fashion, your expertise, vision, and strategy will bring the Kids Active category to life across our omni‑channel platforms.
Leveraging your leadership, advocacy, and negotiation skills with the scale of the Walmart system, you’ll make a direct impact on the business and help families everywhere save money and live better.
- Lead market winning merchandising strategy for the Kids Active category, aligning with Walmart Fashion and broader Walmart strategies.
- Transform active category and lead strategy, team management, budgeting, forecasting, modular planning, assortment selection, replenishment, and supplier negotiations.
- Set the overall strategic direction for Kids Active, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends that drives outsized market share growth
- Analyze competition, customer behavior, industry trends, and the macro environment to inform business decisions.
- Develop and execute long‑term business plans and prioritized strategic initiatives for the Kids Active business.
- Foster a customer‑centric approach, making recommendations and decisions that enhance the omni‑channel customer experience.
- Guide suppliers and vendors in developing customer‑focused products and processes.
- Build and lead a high‑performing team, promoting a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Provide overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices. Own and drive the P&L.
- Evaluate operational processes, measure outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Champion creative ideas to drive business improvements, innovation, and customer experience.
- You have a passion for developing and executing complex category strategies that deliver winning market share.
- You are data‑driven and can translate insights into actionable business plans.
- You are customer‑obsessed and understand omni‑channel retail.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or related field and 5 years’ experience in merchandising management, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area. OR 7 years’ experience in merchandising management, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
- 2 years’ supervisory experience.
- Leading cross‑functional teams, Microsoft Office, Negotiating with third‑party suppliers.
