Position Summary

As the Director of Club Experience Transformation, you will reimagine how members shop our clubs—today and into the future. This is a highly strategic and execution‑focused role: you will dream big about what the next generation club experience should look like and then roll up your sleeves to test, pilot, and scale those ideas in the field. You’ll sit at the intersection of innovation, operations, and member experience, working side by side with club associates and leaders to bring bold new ideas to life.
Responsibilities- Set the Vision:
Define a multi‑year roadmap for the in‑club membership experience, aligning with Sam’s Club’s growth strategy and member‑first mission. - Member at the Center:
Spend meaningful time in clubs and with members to understand their needs, frustrations, and opportunities for breakthrough innovation. - Prototype & Pilot:
Launch in‑club pilots that test new concepts—from digital journeys to layout innovation to service models—measure impact, and refine rapidly. - Drive Change:
Partner with Operations, Technology, Design, and Merchandising to take innovations from concept to scaled execution. - Work backwards from the vision for the future:
Ensure that long‑term transformations fuel near‑term business growth, operational excellence, and associate empowerment. - Measure What Matters:
Define success metrics tied to member satisfaction, operational efficiency, and revenue growth. - Lead with Influence:
Inspire cross‑functional partners and stakeholders with a compelling vision, while building buy‑in at every level of the organization. - Build Talent & Culture:
Contribute to the development of a small but mighty team that thrives on curiosity, agility, and a bias toward action.
- 10+ years in strategy, retail operations, or innovation roles, with proven experience turning ideas into execution at scale.
- Strong mix of strategic thinking and operational follow‑through. You can paint the long‑term vision and then get hands‑on in the field.
- Deep empathy for customers and associates, with experience in customer experience design, retail transformation, or service innovation.
- Comfort leading pilots and experiments in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills—able to rally executives, operators, and associates around bold ideas.
- Experience working cross‑functionally in large, complex organizations.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire high‑performing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field and 4 years’ experience in retail operations or related field OR 6 years’ experience in retail operations or related field.
- 3 years’ of supervisory experience.
- Annual salary range: $ – $; additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and, for certain positions, regional pay zone adjustments.
