Job Title: Lab Assistant
Location: Bentonville, AR 72712
Pay Rate: $16.00 – $17.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
The Lab Assistant supports laboratory operations by assisting senior staff with processing samples, performing tests, and documenting and analyzing results. This role involves operating laboratory equipment, maintaining test environments, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with established procedures and quality standards. The position also supports report writing activities within the Homelines area and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities- Process laboratory samples, perform tests, and record and analyze results
- Build or adapt basic test setups and equipment for laboratory testing
- Perform tests using general laboratory equipment and tools
- Maintain and perform routine care of laboratory equipment and work areas
- Enter and extract data using computer systems and available software
- Follow defined test plans, procedures, and datasheets accurately
- Evaluate test performance and sample operation to assess results
- Record, explain, and prepare charts, graphs, and reports based on test findings
- Examine test samples, read measuring instruments, and review data with supervisors
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational instructions
- Learn and operate basic test methods for customer samples as instructed
- Communicate with customers during setup and testing to ensure proper evaluation
- Record observed and calculated data accurately on appropriate documentation
- Report findings and data to engineers and laboratory technical staff
- Develop working knowledge of laboratory methods, instrumentation, and systems
- Integrate continuous improvement concepts into daily work activities
- Follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and all security practices
- Support report writing functions for the Homelines area
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Ability to read, interpret, and document technical information
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with technical staff
