Intern Conversion – Field Supply Chain, Quality Engineer

• Lead Process Improvement tools and methods, including 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time and motion studies, to eliminate Quality losses and deviations in a Distribution Center
• Deliver functional-area results through KPI analysis, loss elimination, and creation of standard work to reduce process variation
• Assist with Quality-focused process improvement projects owned by area managers
• Compile and submit deviations to One Best Way playbooks and provide input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams
• Assist with tactical deployment of the Quality Excellence WPS program methodology
• Manage projects addressing top Quality losses and help build capability among area managers and associates
• Create area Quality loss profile analyses and performance metrics
• Develop gap analyses to support WPS integration
• Support Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements
• Lead Quality-related savings projects by removing process losses
• Support company policies, initiatives, procedures, mission, values, and ethics standards
• Provide expert advice and guidance on information and best practices
• Build stakeholder relationships and partnerships, identify business needs, implement processes, monitor results, and adapt to changing demands
• Coordinate and oversee job-related activities and assignments
• Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, communicate goals and objectives, build accountability, measure progress, and address improvement opportunities
• Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and recognition
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support the Open Door Policy
• Build high-performing, inclusive teams and promote belonging
• Drive continuous improvement, learning, and adoption of new technologies and skills
• Make data-informed decisions while serving customers and members and balancing short- and long-term priorities

• Must have completed a summer 2026 Walmart or Sam’s Club internship to be eligible

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or prior experience in Quality or Process Improvement OR 2 years of relevant work experience

  Co-Op/Internship in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Distribution

  Experience applying basic Lean/Continuous Improvement Tools
• Preferred:
  Applied knowledge of Quality Management System elements, including Statistical Process Control, FMEA, and Quality KPIs

Demonstrates expertise in Process Improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean tools, with a strong focus on Quality Management Systems and KPI analysis to drive operational excellence. Capable of leading projects that enhance quality, reduce process variation, and foster stakeholder engagement.
