Crystal Bridges is a museum of American art located in Bentonville, Arkansas, founded by Alice Walton in 2005 with free admission. The Momentary is a contemporary art space opened on February 22, 2020, that presents visual, performing, and culinary arts and champions contemporary art’s role in everyday life.

Position Title

Seasonal Retail Associate

Position Summary

The Seasonal Retail Associate supports the store leadership team by creating a welcoming store environment that surprises and delights guests each time they walk through the doors. The role requires a vibrant personality, efficiency, and natural warmth to deliver exceptional service on the sales floor, including guest engagement, selling, product knowledge, styling, cash wrap, restocking, and overall shopkeeping.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Enhance the guest experience by prioritizing customers.
  • Contribute to store culture by being positive, respectful, and helpful, acting as a role model.
  • Adapt to a changing environment and multiple priorities.
  • Work productively within a team, initiating collaboration toward common goals.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in job knowledge and inventory tracking for replenishment.
  • Observe loss prevention guidelines.
  • Adhere to company health & safety regulations.
  • Uphold merchandising and cleanliness standards.
  • Support sales through merchandising and display projects.
  • Maintain familiarity with current products, trends, and how they reflect exhibitions.
  • Balance own cash drawer at shift end and follow cash handling procedures for accurate revenue accounting.
  • Support departments during performances, special events, and festivals.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support other departments as needed to maintain high guest engagement.
  • Proactively seek and obtain information about museum policies, promotions, activities, and events.
  • Become familiar with museum buildings, grounds, and community to provide appropriate information and directions.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education:

    High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Professional verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training in a customer service–oriented field.
  • Previous experience in a retail environment.
  • Familiarity with POS systems.
  • Love of and experience with art, fashion, or consumer brands.
  • Creative thinking and thoughtful problem‑solving ability.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Required physical activities include bending, lifting, carrying, and reaching stock shelves up to 5 feet high and up to 40 pounds, pushing or pulling more than 40 pounds, opening doors while pushing loaded carts, standing for 4+ hours, using a step ladder to reach merchandise on 6‑foot shelves, and sitting for long periods. Work will be performed in stores, spaces, and grounds.

Flexibility and open availability on Sunday through Saturday, daytime, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on‑call for emergencies are required, with at least two Saturdays and Sundays per month.
