GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Keep HVAC units working properly in the District. Repair and maintain school equipment and facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read blue prints and lay out work to specifications.
• Perform repairs and maintenance to HVAC equipment.
• Read approved plans/blueprints and specifications to determine and execute most efficient and effective method for the installation and repair of heating and air equipment.
• Utilizing accepted principles and practices, make repairs as required to existing heating and air conditioning systems.
• Perform and supervise the installation of new HVAC equipment and ductwork.
• Troubleshoot and resolve HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on existing equipment to minimize possibility of system shut downs.
• Recognize, evaluate and correct safety hazards and advise immediate supervisor of the problem.
• Performs various building inspection functions.
• Assist in other areas within the department when needed.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc, plus 3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Specialized schooling in a technical and/or community college.
• Arkansas Class B or C HVAC/R Contractors License, EPA 608 Certification.
