Job Summary

Assures, supervises, and participates in performing the day-to-day activities necessary for the smooth operation of a housing facility providing housing, food, counseling, case management, educational assistance, and community network.

Ensures that paperwork is completed, and house rules are followed by all Monitors and clients; ensures compliance with The Salvation Army policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Provide direct services in the Duncan service unit as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Works closely with Corps Officers in reviewing and developing program guidelines in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies and other contract/ grant compliance.
  • Maintains relationships with other agencies in order to assist clients with available resources.
  • Serves on-call twenty-four hours per day and responds to the shelter and kitchen in support of staff needing guidance with emergency situations involving clients or other outside influences.
  • Plans, directs, and monitors the work performed by all shelter monitors; provides feedback and recommendations to shelter staff as needed.
  • Supervises Shelter and Kitchen staffs and provides technical assistance to program management staff in the areas of corrective discipline, staff transfers, and adverse actions. Conducts monthly Shelter and Kitchen staff meetings and brings problems and recommendations discovered as a result of the meeting to the Corps Officers. Conduct annual performance evaluations for shelter monitors.
What are we looking for in you

Education and Experience

High school diploma or G.E.D. and at least one year of experience working in a social or public service environment with experience assisting the public. One year of progressively responsible management work or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications / Licenses

Valid State Driver’s License
