Senior, Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, secure software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance, while integrating advanced AI/ML components to enhance platform capabilities. The Site Traffic
360 team delivers critical data engineering solutions that support analytics, performance, and advertising data requirements. The team leads key initiatives including Traffic Instrumentation Standardization & Automation, Traffic Sense Portal, and GenAI feature launches. Members collaborate to develop and maintain scalable data pipelines, ensure data quality, and apply advanced data transformation and modeling techniques. Utilizing big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Kafka, the team enables efficient data integration and processing.

Their work drives business objectives and enhances data-driven decision-making across multiple domains, promoting innovation and operational excellence.

Own delivery of scoped features and components through collaborative engineering teams, ensuring alignment with platform and system objectives.

Write clean, efficient, and reliable code using languages such as Java, Scala, & React driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.

Participate in solution design, conduct code reviews, and apply object-oriented programming and documentation-based coding practices.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and define success metrics.

Monitor application performance, support defect management, and ensure high-quality software delivery.

Mentor peers, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles.

Strong technical acumen in platform design, component services, and iterative development methodologies.

Proven ability to deliver scoped features and manage full software lifecycle including CI/CD, automated testing, and debugging.

Expertise in integrating AI/ML components and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development efficiency.

Demonstrated skills in code review, documentation-based coding, and maintaining high-quality, maintainable software.

Effective collaboration and communication skills to work across teams and translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
