Position Summary
As a Software Engineer II at Walmart Global Tech, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and building robust backend systems that power seamless digital experiences for millions of customers. You will work across multiple domains, contributing to the development of scalable services that are critical to Walmart’s digital platforms.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs to support Walmart's digital experiences.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful features and solutions.
- Build scalable and reliable systems that handle large volumes of traffic and data.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while following engineering best practices.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues in distributed systems across environments.
- Contribute to performance optimization, security improvements, and system resilience.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- 1+ years of experience in Java technologies, distributed systems, and large‑scale application development and design.
- Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot, REST, Kafka, Cassandra.
- Experience with containerization technology and microservices.
- Well‑versed in CI/CD and exposure to Dev Ops practices, and monitoring tools.
- Strong adherence to SDLC process and Scrum/agile methodologies.
- Experience working with Java, multithreading, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and developing robust high‑performance scalable applications.

We use a hybrid way of working that is primarily in office coupled with virtual when not onsite. Our campuses serve as a hub to enhance collaboration, bring us together for purpose and deliver on business needs. BenefitsAnnual salary range: $80,000 - $155,000. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock options. Other perks include 401(k) match, stock purchase plan, paid maternity and parental leave, PTO, multiple health plans, and much more.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area.
- 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
