Sr.Java Developer

Lead II - Software Engineering

UST is looking for strong and agile Java backend developers to work on a multi-vendor multi-geo team helping to build a Next Gen high scale enterprise application including working with RFID and IOT devices at scale for a retail application.

• Handle device communication protocols, data exchange, and real-time event processing.
• Ensure high availability and fault tolerance in device interactions.
• Design RESTful APIs for device orchestration and enterprise integration.
• Implement event-driven architecture using Kafka / Active
  
  MQ for real-time device events.
• Deploy and manage services using Docker/Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Build CI/CD pipelines with automated deployment strategies.
• Work with Cloud services and API Gateway for scalable integrations.
• Develop unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Perform end-to-end validation of hardware-software workflows.

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

• Experience with Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana), Logging, ing, and incident management.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Big Query, Looker.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, good communication (written & verbal) skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team are also important for this role.
• Should be able to articulate past projects and do on the fly troubleshooting/ write logic during evaluation.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field is required as it is a complex specialized program.

    MQ, Docker/Kubernetes, Helm, Mockito, Junit, Big Query, SQL, Prometheus
• Nice to have:
  • Linux, Looker, Grafana
• Skills and experiences:
  • 9 plus years of experience with hands on experience in software/system design, development, testing and troubleshooting of complex backend Java programs.
  • Strong expertise in Java (17+) and backend development Microservices & REST API design.

Compensation Range: $82,000 - $123,000

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, 6 days of paid sick leave per year (pro-rated for new hires), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty.
