Software Engineer III

Position Summary

This role owns the delivery of scoped features or models through collaborative engineering teams, manages implementation, iteration, testing, and ongoing support for services, APIs, user interfaces, or ML model components, and maintains a product‑driven mindset aligned with broader platform, system, and domain objectives.

• Application & Feature Delivery: Own scoped feature or model delivery, manage implementation, iteration, testing, and ongoing support.
• Software Development & Lifecycle Execution: Write clean, efficient, reliable code in Java, Python, etc., drive CI/CD deployments, automated testing, observability, monitoring, and maintenance; conduct code structure reviews and support defect management.
• AI/ML Integration & GenAI Enablement: Integrate AI agents and ML components using internal and external APIs, leverage GenAI tools such as Git Hub Copilot, and apply object‑oriented principles and documentation‑based coding practices.
• Solution Design & Technical Leadership: Convert high‑level designs into detailed designs with mock screens, pseudo code, and functional logic; evaluate trade‑offs, design scalable, secure, maintainable systems, and participate in design reviews.
• Customer/Associate Problem Definition & Metrics: Engage stakeholders to refine complex problems, translate pain points into technical requirements, and define metrics for solution success.
• Dev Ops & Program Monitoring: Conduct maintenance procedures, monitor application performance, ensure milestone adherence through program reporting, CI/CD tools, and logging systems.
• Engineering Excellence: Promote a collaborative mindset focused on continuous improvement, innovation strategies, internal knowledge sharing, and platform enhancement.
• Technical Ownership and Judgment: Demonstrate responsibility for deliverables, resolve issues, drive projects to completion, and make informed trade‑off decisions.
• Change Agility, Collaboration, and Continuous Improvement: Adapt quickly to change, embrace new technologies, collaborate effectively across teams, and proactively seek process and product improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• OR 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area.
• Experience creating inclusive digital experiences, knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility.
• Strong accessibility best‑practice knowledge and ability to build accessible products and services following Walmart’s guidelines.
