Job Description & How to Apply Below

Confiz is seeking a highly skilled Senior Workday Extend Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable solutions across the Workday ecosystem. This role will focus heavily on Workday Extend application development, integrations, orchestration design, and platform optimization. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong ownership, communication, and problem‑solving capabilities.

You will partner closely with HR, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable Workday solutions that enhance operational efficiency and user experience.

Responsibilities
  • Design and build Workday Extend applications, custom UIs, orchestrations, and business‑process extensions, that automate or enhance platform capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS, and REST/SOAP APIs to exchange data reliably across internal and third‑party systems.
  • Participate in design reviews and architecture discussions; contribute to integration standards, naming conventions, and reusable patterns.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production integration and Extend issues, partnering with vendors and platform teams to minimize disruption.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions, communicating trade‑offs clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Write and maintain technical specifications, design documentation, and runbooks for all solutions.
  • Monitor integration health, data quality, and performance; proactively identify and address risks before they become incidents.
  • Stay current on Workday Community releases, new features, and best practices; bring relevant innovations to the team's roadmap.
  • Provide mentorship and peer review support to less‑experienced engineers on the team.
  • Beyond technical qualifications, we are looking for engineers who:
  • Take end‑to‑end ownership, you follow work from design through production and don't consider it done until it's running reliably.
  • Communicate risks proactively, you surface blockers and trade‑offs early, with context and a recommended path forward.
  • Operate with platform‑custodian mindset, you treat the Workday ecosystem as a product, not a project, and invest in its long‑term health.
  • Thrive in ambiguity, you are comfortable moving forward with incomplete information while keeping stakeholders aligned.
  • Bring a learning orientation, Workday releases twice a year; you stay current and help the team do the same.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on Workday technical development experience, including at minimum 2 years focused on Workday Extend application development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency across core Workday integration toolsets:
Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, RaaS, Document Transformation, and XSLT.
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday Extend, including Orchestrations, Business Object model, Workday Extend APIs, and custom application deployment.
  • Solid grasp of web services standards: REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, and XSLT data transformation.
  • Experience with Workday HCM data structures and business processes across multiple functional domains (HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Benefits, or Absence).
  • Proficiency in one or more general‑purpose programming languages (JavaScript, Java, Python) for integration scripting and tooling.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery, version control (Git), and CI/CD practices in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear technical specs and explain complex solutions to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Cornerstone:
    Extend application integration to Workday
  • Workday certification(s) in Integrations, Workday Extend, or a related technical domain.
  • Experience with Workday Prism Analytics, BIRT report design, or Calculated Fields for advanced reporting scenarios.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), Mule Soft, or other enterprise iPaaS platforms.
  • Prior work in a retail, e‑commerce, or workforce‑intensive environment where scheduling, time‑and‑attendance, or commission systems are critical.
  • Experience building or supporting integrations across workforce management platforms (e.g., Kronos/UKG, Workday Scheduling) or payroll/commission systems.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (Big Query, Workday Prism) and understanding of data pipeline design for HR analytics.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks for Workday (e.g., Kainos) and a strong commitment to test‑driven quality practices.
