About Team

This team focuses on customer, associate and business needs, working with Walmart International, which includes more than 5,200 retail units operating in 23 countries such as Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Mexico and South Africa.

What You'll Do
  • Ensure self-accountability for overall engineering and operational excellence of the respective areas of oversight
  • Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community
  • Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set priorities, and deliver high-quality products
  • Work closely with Distinguished & Principal Architects and cross-functional teams following established practices for delivery of solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost, and Delivery) within architectural guidelines
  • Participate in hiring and building high-performing agile teams
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to create high-level and low-level designs and drive implementation
  • Develop quality, best practices, and other non-functional standards, guiding teams to execute them while managing technical and design aspects
  • Implement cutting-edge models and algorithms that operate on massive data sets; collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams such as cloud, platform, analytics across geographies
What You'll Bring
  • 12+ years of experience designing and developing highly scalable distributed applications and platforms, particularly for multi-tenant SaaS products
  • Proven experience with architectural, design, and testing patterns
  • Experience building a CI/CD pipeline using Dev Ops best practices
  • Experience with Kafka and other high-volume, low-latency messaging systems
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
  • Ability to balance long- term “big picture” and short-term considerations of design decisions
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Microservices, and Cloud-native Architecture
  • Hands-on experience with Java Spring Boot, Spring Kafka (or equivalent)
  • In-depth knowledge of service registry, ELK/Splunk, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Expertise with SQL and No

    SQL data modeling and optimizations
  • Experience with at least one of Azure or Google Cloud Platforms
  • Self-starter who can multitask across several priority areas in uncertain situations
  • End-to-end ownership of at least one cloud-based project
  • Strong prototyping development skills
  • Desire to drive change and adapt quickly
  • Proficiency in emerging technologies
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building; ability to influence without direct control
  • Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns, and configuration tools for faster development
  • Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology
Minimum Qualifications
  • Option 1:
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
  • Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field and 2 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating accessibility seamlessly is a plus.
