About the team:
The team advances Walmart US Payroll systems through innovative design, enhancement, and maintenance. Collaborating across functions, members support payroll transformation to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery for a large workforce. The group emphasizes scalable solutions, system performance optimization, and resolving complex challenges. Utilizing Agile methodology and SAP expertise, the team drives continuous improvement and operational excellence. It fosters a professional environment focused on business goals, leveraging technical skills such as API design, Dev Ops, and cloud-native architecture, while maintaining high standards in software development and project management to support Walmart's mission.
What you'll do:

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
• Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
• Lead system design reviews to validate feasibility, quality, and alignment with architectural standards.
• Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features using multiple programming languages.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements and track success metrics.

What you'll bring:

• Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to build scalable and resilient systems.
• Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and platform development to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
• Ability to conduct system design reviews and apply technical judgment to ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
• Skilled in debugging, problem solving, and data-driven decision making to optimize engineering outcomes.
• Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers and fostering continuous learning and innovation.
• Effective collaboration skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders for successful project delivery.
