Job Description

Job Title: Interventionist Supervisor: Principal

Job Classification: Exempt

Contract Length: 187 Days

Job Summary

Position ensures that all students, especially those who are economically disadvantaged, have access to high-quality educational opportunities and resources that support their academic success. This requires a combination of strong organizational and management skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and community stakeholders.

Essential Duties
  • Program Management:
    Ensuring that it complies with all federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines as well as Berea Independent policies and procedures.
  • Budget Management:
    Allocating funds for instructional materials, professional development, and other resources to support student learning.
  • Staff Training:
    Providing training and professional development opportunities for teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure they have the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively implement academic interventions.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
    Collecting and analyzing data on student performance to identify areas of need and inform decisions related to program improvement and resource allocation.
  • Parent and Community Outreach:
    Building relationships with parents, community organizations, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and support.
  • Compliance Monitoring:
    Ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations, including monitoring student eligibility and participation, and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Teaches content and skills in courses, utilizing curriculum designated by Berea Independent Schools.
  • Develop and maintain a high-quality, standards-based curriculum that aligns with the state and administrative regulations and procedures of Berea Independent Schools.
  • Deliver effective classroom instruction, facilitate learning activities, and provide timely and constructive feedback to students to enhance their learning.
  • Provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
  • Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms, and other recordkeeping activities, as necessary.
  • Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas.
  • Evaluates each student’s progress in meeting the course standards.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
  • Communicates with parents and school counselors on student progress.
  • Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.
  • Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
  • Administers testing in accordance with division testing practices.
  • Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Other Duties
  • Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs, curriculum development meetings and other professional activities.
  • Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including PTA, student clubs and after-school activities.
  • Creates an effective learning environment through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and activity/learning centers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by principal or appropriate administrator.
Certification Requirement

Possession of certification as required by Kentucky law.

Licenses and Other Requirements
  • Valid Kentucky driver’s license.
  • Insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier.
