Engineering Manager
SummaryManages and coordinates the work of highly skilled engineering staff placing particular emphasis on research and development with the objective of developing new product lines and expanding existing product lines within the Metal Stamping, Weld Assembly, and ED Coat Paint automotive or non-automotive industry.
Essential Duties- Knowledge of Metal stamping, Welding, Paint, Design and Automotive program management. Extensive knowledge of Sales and Marketing
- Degree in Engineering or similar subject and/or 8-10 years’ experience.
- Leads and coordinates various engineering functions and operations including PFMEA, quality assurance, testing, production, and research and development of new and existing product lines.
- Serves as project manager for multiple projects, creating timelines and cost projections, organizing collaborative meetings, and ensuring projects comply with specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Implement new launch projects and facilitate regular meetings related to launch.
- Reviews work and projects for technical accuracy.
- Establishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
- Facilitates process and procedure development with manufacturing department for new product development.
- Prepares and executes departmental budget.
- Facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
- Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications- Thorough understanding of engineering theory and design criteria.

- Lean, Kanban, Six-Sigma and/or PDCA Cycle.
- Thorough understanding of applied math and physics.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
- Computers, Microsoft Office, CAD, Catia
- Transfer, Progressive, and Tandem Presses ranging from 100-600 tons.
- General shop knowledge (Drill press, milling machine, hand grinder, CNC, EDM, PLC)
- Robotics/Pneumatics
- Welding Process
