To assist with city planning and zoning and coordination of community development activities. Read, interpret, and consistently apply provisions of the city zoning ordinance; organize plat and plan submittals, perform inspections, and maintain records pertaining to the city zoning ordinance and approved plans; perform related work as required.

• Read, interpret, and enforce subdivision regulations and applicable city ordinances.
• Assist planning staff with review of plats and development plans in accordance with regulations; correspond with design professionals, owners, and developers as required for plan approval.
• Use software to track projects and serve as an administrator to update applications and usability.
• Perform a variety of field and office work in support of zoning regulations including deed and plat research.
• Conduct site inspections for subdivisions and development plans; coordinate with general contractors, owners, subcontractors, utility providers, city departments, and others as required to ensure public and private infrastructure and site improvements meet approved plans.
• Aid in stormwater infrastructure inspections.
• Update website as needed.
• Assess properties and enforce applicable codes for property maintenance, grass, nuisance, and other matters of public health; prepare evidence in support of enforcement actions; and appear and present at code enforcement board hearings as necessary.
• Ensure new development meets ADA requirements for applicable site improvements.
• Assist with street acceptance inspections and coordination of approvals.
• Assist in site stormwater inspections for MS4.
• Review and issue sign permits, zoning permits, and other permits as applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Associate’s degree in engineering, design, or a related field combined with two years of experience in a responsible, directly related construction position, such as foreman.
• Job experience may be substituted for education on a year-to-year basis for up to two years.
• Valid KY driver’s license.

Salary Information: $53,126 – $58,126
