OverviewWhat starts with YOU, moves the world! Hyster‑Yale Materials Handling, Inc. is a world‑class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks offering an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician II to support 2nd Shift operations at our Berea, KY manufacturing plant.
Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and improve standard work instructions, process documentation, and visual aids to support fabrication, paint, and assembly operations.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues on the shop floor, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Apply manufacturing and industrial engineering principles to improve methods, line layouts, ergonomics, material flow, and labor balance.
- Partner with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to reduce defects, variation, and waste while improving process stability.
- Support continuous‑improvement initiatives, including kaizen events and problem‑solving activities focused on quality, safety, and cost.
- Assist with selection, installation, startup, and validation of tools, fixtures, and equipment to ensure processes are capable and repeatable.
- Support new product introductions by reviewing designs for manufacturability, establishing assembly processes, and training operators on standard work.
- 2‑year technical degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience, or 7+ years of relevant manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience supporting manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, materials, and process documentation.
- Ability to apply continuous‑improvement and quality principles to reduce defects, variation, and waste.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Experience improving workstation layouts, ergonomics, material flow, and labor balance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for documentation, analysis, and presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with operators, engineers, quality teams, and leadership.
