Overview
The key objective for the Information Technology Associate position is to expand the detection and prevention skillset to the organization through a diverse series of trainings and incident response. In addition, the position will assist in identifying and taking steps to mitigate Information Technology risk to campus by addressing vulnerabilities and compromised systems/accounts as needed.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Provide high value training to faculty, staff, and students of Berea College in the area of Information Security.
- Work within the current Information Technology policy and framework to assist campus in mitigating risk factors.
- Serve as a liaison to faculty, staff, and student users who may need assistance with remediation of Information Technology risk.
- Provide technical knowledge at a high level to end users needing assistance with authentication related requests. Assist with the Security Awareness Training & phishing education programs.
- Assist customer service and networking with identifying and remediating Information Technology risks.
- Provide high value orientation material to incoming faculty, staff, and students.
Education required to ensure success in this position:
- Undergraduate degree from Berea College with a graduation date of 2025 or spring 2026.
Experience required to ensure success in this position:
- History of success in a higher education setting and/or working collaboratively with diverse faculty/staff, alumni, donors, and students.

- Work with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students to provide Security Awareness training to the institution.
- Ability to learn and use leading security technologies.
- Use diligence and discretion in the handling of confidential information.
- Understanding of security control frameworks.
- Ability to interpret reporting and provide feedback to ensure that security goals of the organization are being upheld.
- Demonstrated prior experience in coordinating and managing large group activities and/or trainings.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Ability to navigate campus buildings and grounds. May be required to drive a campus vehicle or cart.
- May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time. Position may require the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Professional Office Environment.
- Computer literacy and strong aptitude for the following tasks: use of internet and e-mail; navigating Argos, Banner, word processing; experience with Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to use copier, institution’s phone/voice mail system, and other devices found in an office setting.
