Job Description
The Auto Body Technician is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by meticulously assessing and repairing each customer's vehicle to restore pre‑accident condition. The Technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles each vehicle, playing a pivotal role in delivering speed, quality, and customer excellence. The Technician works with team members to meet repair facility KPIs and serves as a brand ambassador for The Boyd Group.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
- Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
- Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
- Hammer out dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
- Realign car chassis and frames and repair structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts, including glass and windshields.
- Replace or repair interior parts.
- Weld or attach parts and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or agreed‑upon equivalent.
- Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of technical school program or 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
- Read job orders and work with very little supervision.
- Work well with other repairers in an auto body shop.
- Understand methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.
- Know how to use tools required for the trade.
- Work safely in a noisy area with odors.
- Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
- Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for repairs and inspections.

Flat rate compensation is performance‑based and tied to turned hours. Estimated total compensation is $65,000 – $125,000+ per year. Compensation is commensurate with skill, education, and experience.
