The Overnight Shift Supervisor will assist our Managers in providing management, leadership, and supervisory oversight of our Youth Care Specialists at our Youth Residential Treatment Center. This is a fulltime position Thursday-Sunday from 10pm-8am.

Ohio Guidestone’s residential Campus provides out-of-home care for boys and girls with complex trauma, mental health needs, academic struggles, and severe emotional and behavioral concerns, which prevent them from living safely oGuidestone staff work with in tandem with placing agencies and caregivers to transition youth back into permanent living situations.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the safety and security of residents during the overnight hours on the residential campus.
  • Monitors nighttime responsibilities of the youth care specialists.
  • Ensures that accreditation, licensing standards, rules and responsibilities and cottage routines are met and maintained.
  • Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment throughout the campus during the overnight hours.
  • Develops therapeutic relationships with residents.
  • Performs hourly rounds of the cottages and campus throughout the overnight shift.
  • Handles all crisis situations throughout the campus and notifies appropriate Management if needed.
  • Provides support to treatment specialists on overnight shifts.
  • Ensures that required staff to resident ratio is maintained during shift.
  • Gives on-going feedback to staff, either positive or constructive critiques as needed.
  • Helps guide new staff through shift procedures and job expectations.
  • Informs program managers of issues and concerns from previous shift.
  • Provides face to face assessment of restraints across campus when on duty.
  • Ensures that overnight documentation is completed prior to shift ending, including the completion and review of any CIR’s that have occurred throughout the overnight shifts.
  • Completes all paperwork required by the agency in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Attends supervision, weekly team meetings and other required meetings, training sessions, conferences and workshops to maintain professional competency.
  • As directed by the Program Manager or designee, will adhere to the specific Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court contract specifications that outline the requirements for Community Based Treatment Centers (CBTC) as defined by the Ohio Department of Youth Services, the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, and the training specifics required by the University of Cincinnati for CBTC staff.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • May be involved in the planning, organization, and implementation of special events or department specific projects or seasonal program changes.
  • In times of need, may be asked to complete related duties other than those indicated above as assigned by their supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Ability to delegate, manage people, and evaluate staff and programs
  • Ability to physically restrain residents whose ages, heights and weights vary
  • Supervisory skills and flexibility to supervise at multiple sites.
  • Ability to transport residents.
  • Interacts professionally with coworkers, representatives from outside agencies, and families
  • Attention to detail and confidentiality required
  • Strong oral and written skills necessary
  • Requires typing and computer literacy, including Windows applications, Microsoft Word and Excel, e-mail and basic database usage.
  • Driver’s license with safe driving record in accordance with agency policy
