A substitute teacher must hold a teaching certificate issued by the New Jersey State Board of Examiners/New Jersey Department of Education. OR Must be eligible to receive a County Substitute Certificate. To receive the County certificate:
Must have completed 30 semester hour credits in an accredited college Complete a criminal history background clearance A fee of $125.00 is charged by the County for this certificate and the certificate is issued for a five-year period. Apply for the substitute credential of of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization.
