QUALIFICATIONS:A substitute teacher must hold a teaching certificate (Standard, CEAS, or CE) issued by the New Jersey State Board of Examiners/New Jersey Department of Education.
OR
Must be eligible to receive a County Substitute Certificate.
To receive the County certificate:- Must have completed 30 semester hour credits in an accredited college
- Complete a criminal history background clearance
A fee of $125.00 is charged by the County for this certificate and the certificate is issued for a five-year period.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or appropriate employment authorization.
Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
Must be NJ resident within one year from date of hire
