Senior Director, Domestic Tax Planning

About your role:

The Senior Director Domestic Tax Planning will be a key player in identifying, implementing, and defending tax planning initiatives. This will require interaction and alignment with various groups across the enterprise. The Corporate Tax team is responsible for all aspects of Fiserv's domestic and international taxes, is part of the CFO's organization, and is viewed as a value-added, trusted business advisor throughout the organization.

What you'll do:

* Develop and implement domestic tax planning initiatives including domestic transfer pricing strategies, legal entity rationalization, acquisition strategies, etc., to drive shareholder value.

* Lead technical tax research, calculation, and documentation efforts related to Federal and State income tax matters.

* Lead U.S. tax due diligence efforts with respect to potential mergers and acquisitions as well as post-acquisition planning and integration efforts.

* Lead integration efforts between tax planning, tax reporting, finance, legal, HR, and tax compliance teams to ensure that planning initiatives are properly executed, risks are mitigated, and positions and transactions are appropriately accounted for and reflected in tax returns and ASC 740.

* Identify, evaluate and implement federal and state credit opportunities including modeling, documentation and coordination with key stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate claims.

* Support the development and implementation of Tax Department automation initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Experience you'll need to have:

* 10+ years of experience with a strong technical and applied knowledge base of US federal and state tax laws

* Experience with acquisitions and divestitures and demonstrated understanding of complex domestic and international structures

* Tax technical skills and experience with US GAAP ASC
740 Tax Accounting concepts

* Bachelor of Science in Accounting and related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

* Master's degree in taxation

* CPA licensure

* Financial and/or technology industry experience

* This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experience helps you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
