Job Description

We’re seeking a Senior Data Engineer (DBT) who is ready to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward‑thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries.

Objectives of this role
  • Provide expert guidance on implementing DBT from end‑to‑end, including setup, configuration, and optimization in a large‑scale environment;
Drive cross‑functional awareness of requirements and identify inefficiencies in systems processes using data and trend analysis.
  • Advise on best practices for DBT usage, including what to do and what to avoid, based on real‑world experience.
  • Assist in solving specific challenges, such as configuring developer workflows where individuals can run DBT in their own environments and seamlessly promote code to dev/prod without compatibility issues.
  • Collaborate with our data engineering team to integrate DBT with Snowflake and Data Vault for automated data transformations.
  • Review and recommend improvements to data models, pipelines, and automation processes.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions to empower our internal team on DBT tools and techniques.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various business units (e.g., Credit, Debit, Govt LOBs) to conduct analyses and produce documentation, fostering effective communication.
  • Continuously evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements, maintaining systems processes and providing status reports to relevant parties.
  • Monitor and research postproduction deployments, prove to stakeholders that the implemented solution works.
  • Author and maintain internal and external documentation, including formal delivery of requirements.
  • Perform systems analytics to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with partners for seamless systems integration, addressing inquiries and issues from managers, business users and SMEs with well‑researched recommendations.
Preferred skills and qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in information technology or computer science.
  • Proven experience implementing DBT Core in at least two projects, with four or more implementations preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience working on large‑scale projects involving hundreds of models across multiple environments, including production.
  • Strong understanding of DBT commands and features, Macros & Jinja templating, and Materializations.
  • Expertise in core data engineering skills:
Advanced SQL, Data Modeling, Cloud Data Warehouses (specifically Snowflake), Git for version control, Data Pipeline Automation concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and scripting in Python or R.
  • Ability to provide consultative advice without needing to serve as a full architect—focus on practical, actionable implementation.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation and drug test as part of the selection process.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have authorization to work in the country without the need for sponsorship.
