Temp UX​/UI Designer

Overview

The Samsung Mobile UX team is seeking a highly motivated UX analyst with strong project management skills. The candidate should possess comprehensive knowledge of the design cycle from research, requirements gathering, to design iteration, validation, and QA. In the role, the candidate will own the UX design aspect of a product’s development process. They will review and analyze the latest Samsung UX, deliver UX feedback with alternative designs to Samsung designers, and lead communications with North American mobile carriers as well as Samsung teams based in South Korea.

In addition, they will be responsible for tracking, managing and resolving any UX related issues raised during the lifecycle of the product.

• Communicate device UX (Samsung One UI) with carriers, gather feedback, work closely with designers in South Korea to enhance Samsung device experience.
• Review and analyze UX in early phases of development and deliver relevant feedback.
• Communicate and cooperate with counterparts of internal teams such as product design, research, engineering, and marketing as well as external partners, such as telecommunication operators and external consultants.
• Ensure that the UI development results meet market (consumer) demand, technical specifications, and carrier requirements.
• Analyze UX of competing mobile devices as well as market trends in mobile UX.
• Conduct design research and propose new concepts with mockups.
• Conduct group usability studies and document results and analysis of the studies.

• 3+ years of industry experience or 1+ years with a master’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Usability Engineering, Computer Science, Psychology, Information Technology.
• Deep knowledge of application architecture basics, software design process, and UI/UX design deliverables.
• Experience in designing mobile applications and involvement from research to delivering design artifacts.
• Strong time and project management skills under tight deadlines managing multiple projects.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams reporting to multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and strong ownership.
• Design and research experience is required.
• Working knowledge of usability testing.
