Senior Oncology Account Specialist – Houston, TX

Summary

The Oncology Sales Representative will provide physicians, pharmacists and healthcare professionals with products, services, and information that will enable them to use and prescribe Ipsen’s products safely and effectively. The ideal candidate will manage the territory and administrative requirements efficiently, achieving full compliance with drug laws and regulations when providing samples. Your territory will include Houston, Texas.

Main Responsibilities
  • Represent Ipsen’s Oncology products in the U.S. marketplace.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals by effectively positioning the benefits and use of Ipsen’s products for appropriate patients.
  • Develop and implement robust territory business plans centered on performance; meet or exceed territory productivity requirements.
  • Develop strong, long‑term relationships with customers in all assigned accounts.
  • Represent Ipsen’s brands in a professional, compliant, ethical and effective manner.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of disease states, Ipsen’s brands and relevant competitor products.
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in the broader reimbursement environment; possess a deep understanding of the reimbursement and fulfillment pathways for injectable medications.
  • Exhibit highly effective territory management and superior selling competencies.
  • Foster team effectiveness and accomplishment of shared goals by sharing knowledge, experience and information.
  • Effectively manage territory resources and budget.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations and policies governing the conduct of Ipsen U.S. staff.
  • Report to the Regional Business Director, collaborate with colleagues in sales, marketing, V&A, sales training, and HR.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key oncologists, hospitals, healthcare institutions, industry experts, consultants, etc.

  • Business Insights – Apply knowledge of business and the marketplace; make decisions using data and translate insights into objectives and performance expectations.

  • Excellence in Execution – Plan and prioritize work to meet commitments; set clear goals and timelines; maintain strong performance focus and KPIs; drive results even in tough circumstances.
  • Interpersonal Savvy – Relate comfortably with diverse groups; adapt communication style; demonstrate authenticity, humility, and inclusive behaviors.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Pharmaceutical Representative, and minimum of 5 years in Oncology.
  • Strong capability in account management, superior selling competencies and a proven sales performance track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Business analytics skills to understand and analyze business and market drivers, and to develop, execute and adjust territory business plans.
  • Experience building and maintaining professional relationships with customers, office staff, and others in the customer influence network.
  • Ability to work effectively in matrix teams and a track record of developing self to drive and enhance performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
  • Willingness to travel by car, air, and public transportation.
  • Launch experience in Oncology preferred.
Compensation & Benefits

Annual base salary range: $135,000 – $200,000. Eligible to participate in the short‑term incentives program.
