As a central service center for the entire campus, the Graduate Division works to guide and assist students from the moment of admission, through the various milestones of their progress, to the completion of their degree requirements. We provide academic, personal, and professional support services that are vital to the everyday well-being and life‑long successes of Berkeley master’s, professional, and doctoral students.

As the authoritative resource and chief advocate for graduate education, the Graduate Division ensures the equitable administration of policies governing graduate studies across Berkeley’s 14 schools and colleges. As the administrative arm of the Academic Senate’s Graduate Council, we partner with the faculty and staff of each program and the deans of each school and college to maintain the world‑renowned quality of Berkeley’s graduate education.

The Office for Graduate Diversity (OGD) is located within the Graduate Division and is a program designed to support the outreach, recruitment, admission, academic success, and graduation of students who will enrich the diversity of graduate programs at the University of California, Berkeley. The ultimate goal of the OGD Program is to increase campus graduate student diversity through recruitment, academic and social support, admission advising, creation and support of communities and networks, creation of mentoring opportunities, developing methods to support undergraduate programs to prepare diverse students for graduate school, and providing campus leadership on graduate student diversity.

To support and expand the vision and goals of OGD, the Graduate Division launched the Inclusive Excellence Hub in 2023 and is the first campus‑wide community space dedicated exclusively to increasing excellence through diversity and belonging among Berkeley’s graduate students. Under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Graduate Diversity and with a dotted line to the Graduate Division’s Events and Facilities Manager, the Inclusive Excellence Hub Coordinator will serve as the lead staff on duty at the Inclusive Excellence Hub (2515 Channing Way).

This position will oversee the facilities management, operations, and logistics of the Hub and provide administrative coordination of the Hub and administrative support to OGD staff and students.
