Project Engineer, Site Manager

D+H Construction is hiring a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of multifamily and commercial construction projects across the San Francisco Bay Area.

At D+H, we do more than manage construction. We help build and preserve spaces that support people’s lives, including affordable housing, occupied rehabilitation, senior living, and other community-centered projects. We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, proactive, and eager to grow in construction project management or field leadership.

In this role, you will work closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to help keep projects moving from preconstruction through closeout. You will support project documentation, communication, coordination, and follow-through across both office and field activities.

• Processing and tracking RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, logs, and closeout documentation
• Reviewing plans and specifications to support scope clarity and identify potential constructability issues
• Supporting subcontractor coordination and project communication
• Visiting jobsites regularly to understand field conditions and help surface issues early
• Assisting with as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, and final turnover materials
• Helping the team stay organized, aligned, and accountable throughout the project lifecycle

• 1+ year of experience in construction project engineering, project coordination, or construction management
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through consistently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project or similar tools
• Bay Area local with the ability to visit jobsites regularly

• Experience in affordable housing, multifamily, rehabilitation, or community-oriented construction
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction software
• Field experience
• Degree or vocational training in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related area

This is an in-person role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Regular jobsite visits are required. This position does not offer remote work or relocation assistance.
