Long standing General Construction firm seeks Project Engineer for Multi‑Family Developments in Berkeley, CA.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and proactive Project Engineer to join our fast‑paced construction team. The successful candidate will be involved in a diverse range of construction projects, working closely with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure the smooth and successful completion of projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, exceptional problem‑solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize your expertise in civil sitework to design, develop, and implement construction projects.
  • Review, interpret, and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to identify potential issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Prepare and submit RFIs in a timely manner and follow up on responses.
  • Manage all aspects of project scheduling, ensuring all milestones are met within the agreed timeline.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring all projects are delivered within the set financial parameters.
  • Manage materials, ensuring efficient utilization and timely procurement to avoid project delays.
  • Implement and oversee safety management procedures, ensuring all projects adhere to industry standards and regulations.
  • Handle change orders, ensuring they are accurately documented and effectively communicated to all relevant parties.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in civil sitework, RFIs, construction management, scheduling, budgeting, blueprint reading, materials management, safety management, and change orders.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve potential issues swiftly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in the use of construction management software and tools.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites as required.
  • Strong commitment to safety, with a thorough understanding of industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an advantage.
