Job Overview
A Job Captain is responsible for producing high‑quality project deliverables in construction documents. The role spans all phases of a project, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
Responsibilities- Assist the Project Architect in developing bid and construction documents.
- Provide input to the design and construction schedule, communicating the technical implications of design decisions.
- Organize and direct the architectural and/or engineering team to execute work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner.
- Support any tasks required for the successful completion of the project.
- Prepare project construction documents.
- Coordinate the preparation of documents with consultants, contractors, and team members.
- Review construction drawings, project submittals, and other construction documents for compliance.
- Document code review and compliance.
- Communicate and coordinate with management, clients, consultants, and contractors regarding daily business operations.
- Perform occasional travel as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
- At least 4 years of professional architectural experience.
- Proficiency in Revit Architecture.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketch Up, or other 3D modeling, animation, or rendering programs is a plus.
- Superior client focus and service mentality.
- Strong problem‑solving, teamwork, creativity, integrity, and initiative.
- Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adjust work against tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with senior management, external client organizations, and vendors.
- DSA experience preferred for California Job Captains.
- Experience in Educational, Healthcare, Corporate, or Sports sectors is preferred.
- Competitive base salary ($59,977–$89,966) and discretionary bonuses.
