Job Overview

A Job Captain is responsible for producing high‑quality project deliverables in construction documents. The role spans all phases of a project, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.

• Assist the Project Architect in developing bid and construction documents.
• Provide input to the design and construction schedule, communicating the technical implications of design decisions.
• Organize and direct the architectural and/or engineering team to execute work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner.
• Support any tasks required for the successful completion of the project.
• Prepare project construction documents.
• Coordinate the preparation of documents with consultants, contractors, and team members.
• Review construction drawings, project submittals, and other construction documents for compliance.
• Document code review and compliance.
• Communicate and coordinate with management, clients, consultants, and contractors regarding daily business operations.
• Perform occasional travel as required.

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional architectural experience.
• Proficiency in Revit Architecture.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketch Up, or other 3D modeling, animation, or rendering programs is a plus.
• Superior client focus and service mentality.
• Strong problem‑solving, teamwork, creativity, integrity, and initiative.
• Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adjust work against tight deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact with senior management, external client organizations, and vendors.

• DSA experience preferred for California Job Captains.
• Experience in Educational, Healthcare, Corporate, or Sports sectors is preferred.
