Hospitalist

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is seeking a Hospitalist to join its large and complex hospitalist program, serving as a regional referral center for high-acuity medical, surgical, oncologic, and specialty care. This role offers the opportunity to practice high-acuity inpatient medicine within a well-supported and collaborative group, with exposure to teaching, quality improvement, and program development. Physicians will join a mature division with strong operational infrastructure and a culture that values clinical excellence, teamwork, and professional growth.

• Largest and most complex hospitalist program in Sutter East Bay
• Serves as a regional referral center for high-acuity medical, surgical, oncologic, and specialty care across multiple campuses
• Hospitalists care for the majority of hospitalized patients and co-manage complex surgical and subspecialty populations
• Partners closely with nursing, case management, specialists, and hospital leadership
• Mature division with strong operational infrastructure and engaged physician leadership
• Multidisciplinary group including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and certified nurse midwives

Responsibilities

• Care for the majority of hospitalized patients
• Co-manage complex surgical and subspecialty populations
• Partner closely with nursing, case management, specialists, and hospital leadership to drive quality, flow, and patient experience
• Care for a diverse and medically complex patient population
• Play a central role in advancing system-wide initiatives in quality, safety, efficiency, and care redesign

Compensation

• $180 - $190 /Hr.

Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible
• Possess an active and unrestricted California Medical License prior to employment
• DEA license, prior to employment
• IM/FM physicians considered
