The Berkeley Carroll School is a Pre-K through grade 12 college-preparatory school of approximately 1,000 students located in the Park Slope section of New York City. Our vibrant intellectual community draws students from all over the city, admission to the school is competitive, and both our parents and students value achievement and community.
The Berkeley Carroll School is seeking a full-time Counselors in Training (CIT) for its summer Creative Arts Program. Reporting directly to counselors, faculty, and program administrators, CITs provide support to campers and teachers throughout the day in this highly engaging and inspiring summer program for students entering grades three (3) through nine (9). CITs help oversee the safety and well-being of CAP campers as they move through their daily schedule and provide support to Counselors and CAP course instructors during class time.
Responsibilities- Aid in the supervision of summer program participants.
- Support all CAP programming, including arrival/dismissal, noontime (a daily talent/variety show), lunch, and CAP courses
- Provide support for teachers in assigned classes
- Assist the counselors/teachers in daily administration of the summer programs, including but not limited to ensuring the well-being and safety of all participants, administering games and activities, assisting with courses, maintaining a fun and safe environment for the participants, keeping facilities clean, and assisting with signing participants in and out each day
- Perform other program duties, as assigned
June 29 - July 31, 2026
M - F: 8:30am - 4:30pm
CITs must be available to work the full summer and must be available the week of June 20 for mandatory staff orientation (specific dates and times to be determined).
Qualifications- Must be a rising 10th or 11th grade high school student
- Must have an interest in working with children
- Must have the ability to be a cooperative member of a team
- Must have the desire to learn and improve on leadership and communication skills
- Flexible and open to trying new activities and programs

This is a seasonal position with a salary of $1,575/summer for incoming CITs and $1,625 for returning CITs.
