Position Overview
We are building an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors for Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering in the College of Engineering. Positions are temporary, ranging from one semester to an academic year, and may be opened throughout the year.
Salary and Work HoursThe minimum salary aligns with the UC academic scales, ranging from $75,301 to $199,722 for full‑time Lecturer positions. Hourly TSP instructors earn $65 per hour, with 4–40 hours per week. Starting salary is determined by the highest degree, teaching experience, and equity considerations.
ResponsibilitiesLecturers will teach regular and summer session courses, conduct laboratory instruction, hold office hours, grade assignments, advise students, and develop course materials and exams.
TSP instructors will oversee capstone projects for the Master of Engineering program, including proposing projects, meeting with teams, providing feedback on reports and presentations, and coordinating the MS Plan II exam.
QualificationsBasic qualifications (required at time of application):
Master's degree or equivalent international degree.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start):
Ph.D. or equivalent and at least one year of graduate‑level teaching experience.
Preferred qualifications:
Undergraduate or graduate teaching experience; ability to support inclusive curriculum and classroom environment.
