Director, Berkeley Business Academy for Youth (B-BAY) (Haas School of Business)

Lead the overall leadership, strategy, and management of the B‑BAY program, including the development and execution of high‑quality in‑person and online entrepreneurship education programs, and the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with a wide variety of domestic and international organizations and families. Administer all finance, human resources, facilities, and related activities for the small academic program. Oversee program operations, enrollment strategy, partnerships, and revenue generation to ensure continued growth, quality, and financial sustainability.

Develop and organize conferences and other public forums. Works under direction to establish agenda, funding, objectives.

Responsibilities Program Management, Strategy, and Oversight
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the B‑BAY program.
  • Develop and implement program plans, policies, and operational processes to support effective program delivery.
  • Lead student recruitment and enrollment strategies to maintain strong program participation.
  • Maintain working knowledge of curriculum content to support instructors and ensure program continuity when needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key program stakeholders including program alumni, schools, students, families, and campus partners.
  • Identify, assess, and manage operational risks related to student safety, program delivery, and compliance with university policies governing youth programs. Implement appropriate mitigation strategies and response protocols when issues arise.
Staff Supervision and Mentorship
  • Provide guidance and oversight to program staff and student leaders.
  • Supervise and mentor Program Managers, Program Coordinators, and student workers, to support effective program delivery and a positive learning environment.
External Affairs and Partnerships
  • Support outreach and partnership development to sustain program enrollment and visibility.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with schools, organizations, and partner institutions on campus, domestically and internationally.
  • Represent B‑BAY at outreach events, fairs, and partner meetings to promote the program and recruit participants.
  • Collaborate with internal campus partners to identify opportunities for new youth programming initiatives.
  • Support development and implementation of marketing and outreach strategies.
  • Participate in outreach travel and presentations as needed.
Financial Planning and Revenue Generation
  • Support financial sustainability of the program.
  • Develop and manage the annual program budget, monitoring revenues and expenditures to ensure financial sustainability.
  • In consultation with the IBSI Executive Director, develop enrollment and pricing strategies that support program sustainability and long‑term growth.
  • Identify opportunities to sustain and grow program revenue, including expanding existing programs, developing new program offerings, and designing custom or bespoke youth entrepreneurship programs in collaboration with partner organizations and schools.
Program Evaluation and Improvement
  • Assess program outcomes and implement improvements to strengthen program quality and impact.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using participant feedback, enrollment trends, learning outcomes, and input from key stakeholders including students, families, instructors, and partner organizations.
  • Analyze program data and prepare summary reports to identify areas for improvement and inform program design, and operational adjustments.
  • Identify and integrate instructional technologies to improve learning design and enhance program curriculum.
  • Contribute to IBSI's broader mission to advance social impact by ensuring B‑BAY programming fosters entrepreneurship, leadership, and exposure to business as a tool for positive societal change.
